We want to make sure as many people who want to attend SquiggleConf can do so as possible, regardless of their financial situation or whether their employer can pay for them. That's why we offer a variety of ways to get a free ticket to SquiggleConf 2025.

Community Participation

SquiggleConf is a community conference first and foremost. We have a standing offer to anybody who has done any of:

Be an organizer of an Boston tech meetup or student group active the year of the conference
Speak at a Boston TS Club event within 1 year of the conference
Speak at a Michigan TypeScript event within 1 year of the conference
Be in a Michigan TypeScript video within 1 year of the conference
Speak or been an MC at a previous SquiggleConf

Open Source

6. As thanks for significant contributors to major open source projects for web dev tooling, we offer free tickets to members of major language and tooling teams:

Go ecosystem teams: Go core, esbuild
Rust ecosystem teams: Rust core, Cargo, Tauri
TypeScript ecosystem teams: TypeScript core, npm, React, VS Code
WebAssembly ecosystem teams: Emscripten, LLVM, WASI
Zig ecosystem teams: Zig core, the Zig foundation, Bun

If you are a significant contributor to one of these projects, or to a project you believe contributes to web dev tooling at the scale of these projects, please reach out to us.

Other Avenues

Be a Speaker: all of our speakers get a free ticket to SquiggleConf, of course!
Group Scholarships: we provide a limited number of free tickets given out to nonprofits, student groups, and other for-good-entities.
Local Diversity Scholarships: we provided a limited number of free tickets to individuals who apply to our scholarship to help improve diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in tech. We'll post a public application later this year.
Raffle: every year we have a just-for-fun raffle where we give away a ticket to next year's conference.
Referrals: ticket purchases come with a unique referral code. You'll get $50 back on every ticket referral and they will get $50 off. This intentionally can reduce your ticket cost to $0.
Sponsors: our sponsors receive free tickets as part of their sponsorship tiers. We'll have a sponsorship prospectus available later this season.
Volunteering: all our volunteers are welcome to attend all of the conference for free. We have a variety of roles available, and will work with you to make sure your duties don't coincide with any talks you particularly want to attend.
